Annual General Meeting

Our Annual General Meeting was held in the Kennet Room, Civic Offices, Reading on Thursday 2 November 2006.  The meeting was chaired by the Mayor of Reading and President of the Reading-Düsseldorf Association, Councillor Bet Tickner.  The main business was discussion of the plans for celebrating our 60th Anniversary Year in 2007.

Canal Trip

On Saturday 2 September, we went on a Canal Trip  with the Kennet Horse Boat Company at Kintbury, and saw some pleasant countryside on a quiet and relaxing afternoon.

Summer Barbecue

We held our annual Summer Barbecue in John and Regula Adams' garden on Saturday 22 July 2006.  Despite drizzle and wind, we had a very enjoyable time - we all squeezed under cover and talked to one another, while sharing some excellent food.

Annual Dinner

The Annual Dinner on Friday 31 March 2006 at La Dolce Vita, Reading was attended by the Mayor of Reading, Cllr Riaz Chaudhri, and the Mayoress, Mrs Naeema Chaudhri.

Wine and Cheese Evening

Our Wine and Cheese Evening took place on Monday 27 February, 2006.  Our speaker was Dr Professor Albert Rainer Glaap, who gave an interesting and amusing talk on "How German are the Germans?"
